Episode 64, recorded 12/18/13, Ithaca, NY for PEGASYS, Ithaca's public access TV channel 13 (or 97.3). This week, we go to the Finger Lakes Institute at Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY for the Finger Lakes Research Conference on Nov. 15, 2013. James Balyszak of Ithaca, NY's Hydrilla Task Force gives a summary of what has been learned and what is being done to combat this extremely aggressive aquatic invasive plant at the south end of Cayuga Lake in New York's Finger Lakes region. In the second segment of our show, we look at rare footage of the endangered Florida panther in Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge and Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park in Collier County Florida. Join me, Tony Ingraham, as we visit parks in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, across the US, and around the world. As a former career state park ranger and environmental educator and interpreter, I am moved to share my love of our beautiful and historic landscapes. I have two series: Walk in the Park, a half hour show from public access TV in Ithaca, NY, and Park Minute. Each shows weekly. Find out more on my website http://walkinpark.com.
