http://www.fao.org/food/nutrition-assessment/capacity-development Malnutrition problems in Tajikistan are mainly diet-related – persistent under-nutrition, stunting and micronutrient deficiencies, accompanied by rising obesity and diet-related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. With 7 out of 10 people under the age of 30, the population of Tajikistan is young, a force to invest in for future sustainable development. In addition to fighting poverty and unemployment, the Government of Tajikistan, with FAO technical support and funding from the EU, is engaging in monitoring the quality and diversity of people’s diets, to define adequate and sustainable solution to improve nutrition. © FAO: http://www.fao.org
