Here's my Fender Telecaster "under the knife", with a brief demonstration on how to get started with any wiring or repair tasks. This is not specific to the Telecaster, but rather a general approach. Search online for specific diagrams for your guitar/bass. Take photos of each stage so you don't get lost with the wiring, but with the Telecaster, it's like lifting the bonnet of a Morris Minor - very basic and easy to work on.
