Ebay item, Strobotron unit. Strobe light as used for checking speed of rotating machinery. Unit originally not working but several mica capacitors and electrolytics were replaced which solved the problem. Unit uses a neon filled NSP1 as a flash tube which is a predecessor to the Xenon tubes now used. The NSP1 gives a nice rich orange colour which looks good. The unit will now be added to my growing collection of unusual vintage electronic devices.
