I just thought the lyrics are eerily suitable to one facet of the story, particularly Viktoria's (probable) lifetime of evil deeds amounting to misery upon misery (desperation, feelings of being unloved, guilt and resentment towards her sister Klara, and self-destructive thoughts), that is if we follow the conventional path of the story wherein they're two separate sisters rather than the other (book-based) narrative intent. I wouldn't say it here so no one gets spoiled. Thank you Mr. Juraj Herz. We know you didn't particularly like this film of yours but it's a gem nonetheless.
