THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES 2013 GENESIS AWARDS BENEFIT GALA - INSPIRING CHANGE FOR ANIMALS

Event Hosted by Carrie Ann Inaba. Ke$ha to Receive the Wyler Award.

The 2013 Genesis Awards Benefit Gala, supporting the life-saving work of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), took place on Saturday, March 23 at the Beverly Hilton. Hosted for the second year in a row by "Dancing with the Stars" favorite Carrie Ann Inaba, the gala celebrates the role that news and entertainment media play in advocating for animals and recognizes the achievements of other high profile honorees. The HSUS' Genesis Awards Benefit Gala marks 27 years of inspiring change for animals, with this year's event benefiting three of the organization's top animal welfare priorities: Pets for Life, Chimps Deserve Better and Farm Animal Protection.

The HSUS is also proud to honor global pop icon and outspoken animal advocate Ke$ha at this year's event. Humane Society International's first Global Ambassador for animals, Ke$ha has spread the word about street dogs, the trophy hunting of endangered lions, shark-finning, Canada's commercial seal slaughter, dog-fighting and cruelty-free cosmetics, among many other important animal welfare concerns.
