With Veterans Day being celebrated today, I thought it would be fitting to take today's video to showcase one of Amtrak's veterans units we are lucky to have here on the Pacific Surfliner. Amtrak #90208 (NPCU), former F40PH #208, was repainted late last year in a beautiful red, white, and blue patriotic paint scheme, similar to Amtrak's original veterans unit P42DC #42. Over the past few weeks I have seen this unit and caught it in various places around San Diego county. Locations include Downtown San Diego, Noell Street, CP Morena, Sorrento Valley, and Encinitas. It's been somewhat diffucult to see this unit, as it mostly spends its time at Amtrak's 8th Street yard in Downtown LA. I've heard it's due to PTC problems, but don't count me on that. Kinda shameful that such a beautiful unit is sidelined and not running as often. God bless America! May our veterans and active duty troops at home and abroad be protected and taken care of as well!
