This poem is written from the perspective of an outsider looking in: to schools, to children, to teachers, to adults. It is shedding light on a pattern that needs to be addressed on a deeper level other than just education. You cannot have a healthy education, if you are not healthy enough period in every aspect. 

This poem focuses specifically on the aspect of emotional stability! Our children, youth, students lack because parents lack the tools or proper coping mechanisms needed to handle hardships. These generation cycles result in mental instability and ultimately teen death. 

It is an ongoing, repetitive cycle that must be severed! We must take a stand on outdated education forums, and lack of resources needed to propel, help, and aid our future leaders of America. Change is universal and this poem is just the start of that change. And  who better to expose this epidemic than Xposyur.  Xposyur is a 27 year old spoken word artist born and bred right here in the city of Akron, OH! She is a graduate of Garfield High School’s class of 2009.  She is heavily involved with her community, youth and young adults, and other organizations in the city.  She goes into high schools, middle schools, and soon into SCJDC inspiring young people to be the best authentic version of themselves that they can be! She has traveled some of the world spreading this awesome gift and has no intention of stopping until the world has become a better place.
