While camping in Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington State a few weekends ago my family and I decided to do a little exploring. We found the Natural Bridges trail which was actually really close to our campground, Peterson Prairie Campground.

The Natural Bridges are pretty cool. They were formed in the distant past when a lava tube collapsed on itself. In a few sections, the ceiling did not give way and what was left was a large arch over a canyon which creates a natural bridge.

The hike was pretty easy and the area was beautiful. We explored the area for about 30 minutes before moving on to the Ice Cave (See Part 2).
