The High Hatters dir. By Leonard Joy – Gotta Feelin’ For You, Fox-Trot from MGM picture „Hollywood Review of 1929” (Jo Trent – Louis Alter) with Vocal refrain by Frank Luther, Victor 1929 (USA) NOTE: The High Hatters were the Victor Records in-house band between 1928-31. Lonar Jouy – the band’s leader – was in that time the member of a board of directors of Victor Talking Machine Company and he designed his orchestra as the hot dance band which, to some extent contradicted the new big-band style and was more inclined to continuing the dance music sound of the Roaring Twenties. Therefore, the recordings of this orchestra -- which, chronologically, belongs to era of the Great Depression – still represent the orchestral sound of the late 1920s. The vocalist in the High Hatters was Frank Luther - fine American crooner of the Jazz Age.
