The electoral outcome in Britain poses an internal problem of difficult governability but also an international problem - because Theresa May will have a weaker position in the Brexit negotiations with the European Union. But these elections, as explains in this video Vincenzo Galasso, director of the BSc in International Politics & Government at Bocconi, are a further testimony that often, when leaders call early elections to strengthen their position, they face unexpected turnarounds, as already happened to Chirac in France in 1996 and more recently with the referendum on Brexit. But despite this, the Tories are already thinking about new elections.
