Basketball Game Supports Local Player Diagnosed

DAYTON--It's a deadly disease you've heard a lot about lately on social media thanks to the ice bucket challenge.
Today, the community came out to support a young woman battling ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.
At Thurgood Marshall High School, people played basketball to support a local legend, Trona Logan.
The Dunbar High School and Central State University basketball player was diagnosed with ALS.
Rhonda Price Athletics and Sisters for Life, two local community advocacy groups, put on today's event. to support Trona Logan and the other 350,000 people living with ALS today.
"As a dear friend, I commend her on her courage, and I hope many of you viewing this and will support ALS...if you really want to see a true fighter on the court and off the court, meet Trona Logan," said organizer Sharon Caldwell Beauchamp.
This disease is aggressive.
Trona Logan is now in a wheelchair. A year ago, she was still walking.
Trona and her family and friends are just one of many groups who will gather to tomorrow for the annual walk to defeat ALS.
The walk is happening in Fairborn at 11 a.m. at Community Park.
ABC 22/FOX 45's Rhonda Moore who lost a friend to the disease is emceeing the event.
