This grand old atlas cedar had to go, to allow the construction process to proceed. The crown spread over 4 properties, and the long limbs had to lifted to clear the obstacles. The property owner is a sculptor and instructor at a design school. He is having the wood milled to be rough outdoor decking. Cedrus atlantica, native to North Africa, is great wood, has a great aroma, and yellowish brown heartwood.
