Alex Salazar performs two poems in his quest to discover human potential. The first poem, "Hump" is a poem about his struggle to overcome an obstacle. Stagnation is very easy, as we are creatures of habit, so he tackles this challenge by getting over the Hump. The second poem, "Astronauts," front lines with the question we were all asked at five: What do you want to be when you grow up? Very few of us have the willingness to stay true to our dreams, and he urges all of us to do.

Alexander Salazar is a 2017 graduate of Cal State University, Northridge, where he obtained his degree in Communication Studies. While a student, Alex was the Slam Poetry team captain, leading them to the CUPSI17 Semi-Finals for the first time in 6 years. Through innovation, passion, and talent, Alex brings heart into each poem that he writes, causing all who hears his words to get a few goosebumps and shed a couple tears.
