Proving the point that, while far from ideal, the push/pull action can make a pretty nasty impression on the opponent. This kind of cut comes up most often when attacking from a compromised position or out of a bind. You don't have room to move the sword out and around, so you push and pull to zap the opponent's ear off or take a chunk from the head.
