'Cult Of Chucky' is the Goriest!

With Cult of Chucky out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital in the States, we’re been catching up with the film’s stars to talk all things Chucky. And to find out just how violent and gory the latest instalment gets.

Cult of Chucky is the seventh film in the Chucky franchise, following in the tiny footsteps of the first three Child’s Play movies, plus Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky.

BLOODIEST CHUCKY MOVIE YET
On the eve of New York Comic-Con, FANDOM spoke to the film’s writer-director Don Mancini, as well as returning stars Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany), Brad Dourif (voice of Chucky), Fiona Dourif (Nica), Alex Vincent (Andy) and Christine Elise (Kyle).

Of the gore, Mancini claims: “Cult of Chucky is super-splattery, but part of the way that works is I’m really into the aesthetics of it. I like the weird beauty of horror, and one of the fun things for me in this movie was creating the sterile, almost all-white environment of this hospital, in the middle of this blizzard. And it’s just fun to blast the gore all over that canvas.”

Jennifer Tilly says that attitude makes him the “Jackson Pollock of horror films.”

Fiona Dourif adds that the film features “A lot of disfigurement of the human head.” While her Dad Brad Dourif – who supplies the voice of Chucky – claims he hasn’t yet seen Cult of Chucky, saying “I can assure you it’s too gory for me.”

Cult of Chucky is out now in the States, while it  hits Blu-ray/DVD and Digital on October 23 in the UK.
