I suppose this is kind of a rant video. I was just browsing the internet looking for freelancing opportunities and happened to see a job ad for part time 100% commission. The job wanted the potential applicant to have 3 years of graphic design experience, 3 years of video editing experience, 3 years of ecommerce experience, 3 years of photography experience, the list went on and on but all totaled up this added up to 27 years of experience and expertise across something like 9 different job types and disciplines, and on top of all that you needed to be willing to take customer service calls and package stuff up in their warehouse when it was called for.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Is this the actual scenario that most people in the work force are experiencing? Lately I've been hearing a lot of employers and even the media talking about what an employee friendly period were living through in the workforce, but I think what people are neglecting to notice is that while unemployment may be low, so is pay, and what's high is the amount of work and skills companies are wanting people to have for these low wages.

I talked recently about a buddy of mine making $1500 to $2500 for writing a single sales letter. Copywriting was just one of the many skills this job post referenced in this video was looking for and this employer was looking for a copywriter with 3 years of experience along with a whole list of other skills and experiences and all for 100% commission while doing menial warehouse work as well when things got busy and all for no pay.

To me this is absolutely crazy.

I suppose this video is a rant video more than anything else but I think this really highlights the need and the necessity for people to start developing hard skills, skills that are needed by and valuable to the market in order to make yourself not only employable, but hopefully so you can do some freelancing and actually earn what your worth or at least something close to it.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts about what the workforce is really like these days? Are you happy with your job, your pay and the workload? Are you finding "entry level jobs" aren't that entry level? Are you finding your getting paid crappily for one job yet doing the work of 6? Drop your comments down below and tell us about it.
