With a 10-foot-tall grim reaper mannequin held up behind him, Steelworkers Local 6500 president John Fera told about 300 strikers gathered Oct. 21 at the picket lines near Balsam Street in Copper Cliff that the union's efforts to embarrass Vale Inco are paying off. Members gathered at the picket lines for a breakfast of pancakes, sausages and donuts hosted by the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR) Chapter 3.
