This is my attempt at a pyramid model that suggests both steps and erosion, without going overboard on the polygon count... maybe even going UNDERboard. The results are mediocre, but for the time spent, it's an efficient sketch. The background was made a while ago, while figuring out Vue's spherical rendering. Actually let me just list all the software and crap that went into this excruciatingly simple animation. Model - Lightwave. 1600polygons. Simple. 4-sided cone with 100 sections, subdivide once, save. Texture - Extracted from a close-up side view of the Great Pyramid at Giza using Texture Maker BumpMap - Filtered from Texture using Texture Maker + Lightwave Turbulence Procedural Displacement - Ripples and Turbulence... tuned. Ground Plane - Genetica. Based on some sandy texture and tweaked for another "project". Background Skydome - e-on Vue 7 "Dunes" procedural rendered with very LOW quality with spherical projection Compositing - Eyeon Fusion 5 (Depth Blur FTW)
