I took a day trip to the nearest city, Tuxtla. It's a town of half a mil about an hour from San Cristobal - it's known for nothing. At. All. Tuxtla is where the closest airport to San Cris is located - they also have a mall and a Starbucks and it's a solid 30 degrees year round there. I got a deal on a hotel and decided to spend the night to enjoy the heat when my cousin came to town for a visit.
