Expectations on people make them branch out in two ways -- they are determined to make it based on the faith others have in them or their aspirations and passions are suppressed, mostly because they are quite passive about what people expect them to do. Melissa Okonny, in this informative talk deals with these expectations, and how they are one of the indirect causes of unemployment. Melissa Okonny is a training facilitator and a career counselor, through which she coaches young people on identifying and pursuing their passions. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
