We are in New Plymouth, Taranaki in the beautiful Ducks & Drakes Backpackers ready for another Taranaki activity today! We head to the other side of New Plymouth city to a place called Paritutu Rock.

It’s a short but super steep climb up Paritutu Rock in New Plymouth which rewards with views of the Sugar Loaf Island, which we kayaked to the other day https://youtu.be/xefoalOmFNU , the city of New Plymouth and Mt Taranaki. We also notice a gorgeous beach below Paritutu Rock so we make that our next stop. 

We walk down to Back Beach in New Plymouth to have some lunch, run down sand dunes and stroll along the beach.
