I became a virtual friend of Brink through a trail of internet paths that led from country singer Lee Ann Womack to Australian bluegrass artist Karen Lynne to bluegrass artist Louisa Branscomb, who is good buddie with Brink. I like Brink's songwriting style because I enjoy story songs, songs with insight, and songs with a message. Songs that don't so much concentrate on catchy hooks and vocal gymnastics. Reality and truth. And, boy, does this song, "From The Third Day On" (from his wonderful album "On The Brink Of A Dream") talk about reality and truth. Brink has seen videos I have made for some of his other songs, and he asked me to make one for this song. I hope I did it justice, Brink.
