Julie Lugo Cerra is a 6th generation Californian who values people and their stories. As the council-appointed Culver City historian, Cerra specializes in community/government relations, local history and education. Having worked with researchers, from third graders through grad students to senior citizens, Julie has spent her lifetime collecting stories and facts which make up the "Living History" of her city. In her Talk, Julie shares her knowledge of Culver City history while imparting us with new ways of making History both a vibrant and living subject. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
