The Social Democrats are in terrible shape. The election saw support for Germanys second-largest party drop 11 percent since four years ago. Less than 25 percent of the electorate backed the SPD.The party seems to have lost its way it lacks direction,convincing leadership and a clear agenda. Its now planning to take stock and reinvent itself in opposition and to take a long,hard look at its relationship to the Left Party.
