Agricultural Business Centres (ABCs) in Sierra Leone are highlighted as a conduit for bolstering food security through a farmer-led process. The ABC model was developed based on the FAO/MAFFS Farmer Field School programme and the Agribusiness Units. The ABC was conceived as a multipurpose facility governed by farmer associations, and offering services such as bulk input purchases and distribution, equipment hire services, processing and group marketing. Since the inception of the ABC model in 2010, a total of 193 ABCs have been established in the country. © FAO: http://www.fao.org
