(1 Nov 2018) Hundreds of Greek university students demonstrated in the Greek capital on Thursday to protest the left-led government's education policy. Protesters are against an education bill which, if passed by parliament, would change university admission requirements. The bill is expected to be debated in parliament in the coming weeks. Students are also demanding free tuition for postgraduate studies and free accommodation, food and books for undergraduates. Holding banners and flares, students marched peacefully to the house of parliament before dispersing. On Monday, clashes broke out between high school students and riot police, when a similar protest in central Athens turned violent, but no injuries or arrests were reported.
