Spain : PM Rajoy in a fighting mood denies all allegations Eduardo Cue, France 24 International Affairs Editor, reacts to the address of Spain PM Mariano Rajoy in Parliament. According to the analyst, Rajoy appears "very feisty", eager to defend himself against the critics and the allegations which weight over him. The PM underlines that the only mistake he made was the blind trust he put in Luis Barcenas, the former treasurer of the People's Party. He denies ever having received money and that the PP had kept a double ledger system. PM Rajoy developed in his address the image of a politician far from being distracted by these scandal accusations busy to contribute to the recovery of his country. Mr. Cue establishes then a parallel between Rajoy and former US President Richard Nixon, underlining here the possibility of a "smoking gun", as in the case of the Watergate : a proof that Rajoy was aware of the scandal. 08/01/2013 News LATEST NEWS - Watch the latest breaking news and information on the latest top stories, international, business, entertainment, politics, and more.
