Soon after the polling began in the West Bengal panchayat elections on Monday morning, violence was reported from various parts of the state. Amid tight security, voting is going on for 38,520 seats. Instances of violence - including a bomb attack in which 20 people were injured - were reported from four districts.  A voter turnout of 26.28 per cent was recorded till 11 am.
