Three "environmental ambassadors" have jointly won the 2009 Göteborg Award. The three recipients -- Dr. Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka, Nairobi, Kenya, Enrique Peñalosa, Bogotá, Colombia, and Søren Hermansen, Samsø, Denmark -- will share the award equally. The Göteborg Award is an international award that recognizes and supports work to achieve sustainable partnerships and development in the region and around the world. The award money, 1 million Swedish kronor, is administrated and funded by a coalition made up of the City of Göteborg, Sweden, and 12 companies, including SKF.
