Westmont: Deputies Investigating After Resident Reportedly Kills Vandal

11.05.2018 | 9:54 PM | LOS ANGELES - Deputies were investigating a shooting incident in Westmont, Monday night. Sheriff's deputies responded just before 10:00 PM to the 2100 block of West 109th Place in the Westmont area of Los Angeles reference a shooting. Further details were scant but initial reports indicate deputies found a man deceased from a gunshot wound to the torso upon their arrival. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim may have been a vandal or trespasser involved in a dispute with the homeowner before the shooting occurred. A man identified by authorities as the resident of the home was detained for questioning and the weapon used was recovered at the scene.
