In today’s video, we will look at how Jared Goff connected on what I’m used to calling a wrap route. Jared Goff had a teaching tape hook up with Josh Reynolds in the red zone versus the Packers on a wrap.

The wrap concept is a great zone beater and worked perfectly for the Rams here.

Hence why it falls into our #FeelGoodFriday section because red zone plays usually only happen this clean in the NFL on Friday practices, when the scout teams might take it a bit easy, so the starters start to feel good about the game plan.

What Are You Going to Learn Today? – How Jared Goff Throws a Wrap

Today you are going to learn how Jared Goff throws a wrap route. Now, I have no idea what they call this route for the Rams, but I was at a few places that called it a wrap concept.

In short, it is a two-person route combination. The inside player runs a hitch, and the outside receiver has a five-ish yard split and runs a wrap in trying to get over the near defender and inside as quick as possible on an in route.

It is a great zone beater.

Why is This Concept Important – Jared Goff Likes Wraps

The wrap concept is important because it plays to many of the Rams’ strengths. Goff’s accuracy. Timing and explosiveness outside. Precision. Play design. Post-snap answers.

Where Does This Concept Fit – Jared Goff the Wrapper

You need to know that the Rams are rolling. The wrap concept is just one of many ways the Rams can use their explosiveness, play design, and execution to exploit teams.

I love the wrap concept because it’s easy to read and throw. A hitch and an in. Yes, please. Completions. Get the ball into the playmakers’ hands.

Going Forward – Wrap It Up

Taken together, Jared Goff and the LA Rams offense looks tough to slow down. They have too many weapons and elite play design.

It will be fun to watch how the wrap concept keeps emerging in the Rams high-powered offense.
