Okay, maybe this is normal for other folks, but it sure wasn't for me! (lol). Our evening western sky is always blanketed & obscured by clouds - until tonight. 41 Minutes prior to sunset this Orange Ball shocked not only me, but even the kids in the street were amazed by it, pointing up and telling others. One little tyke thought it was the Moon :) An orange sun without a solar filter! :) 7:14pm (sunset is at 7:50), Monday Sept 4, 2017, NE Ohio - 79°F (26°C) - Western Sky ~Jayling -Nikon P900 with 83x optical zoom & 166x dynamic fine digital zoom super telephoto Nikkor lens: http://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/compact-digital-cameras/coolpix-p900.html -Homemade Solar Filter using Thousand Oaks Optical Solar Filter Film (inexpensive from Amazon), some cardboard and tape.
