Taligao Minor Student Assault Case: Head Mistress Mariazita Afonso files a petition challenging Children's Courts order and approaches HC to seek Anticipatory bail. Court hearing on 1st Jan. DESCRIPTION: Head mistress of Taleigao based Royal High School-Mariazità Afonso has approached High Court for seeking anticipatory bail in minor student assault case. Mariazita in her petition filed before the High Court has also challenged Children's Court order dismissing her anticipatory bail plea. Fixing the hearing on 1st January, High Court has issued notice to Panaji police. Panaji Police has booked Mariazita under Goa Children's Act for recklessly assaulting a class 8 student. The Children's Court had denied Mariazita anticipatory bail observing that granting bail can endanger other students as she can repeat the offense.
