SEE MY HISTORY SITE ON FACEBOOK : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alan-Heaths-History-Page/173472422695696 Arkady Weisspapier particpated in the uprising in the Sobibór death camp killing two of the Nazi guards, his role was played by an actor in the 1986 film Escape from Sobibór. Here Arkady tells of his time in the Red Army, after he was forcibly conscripted and sent to Soviet occupied Poland. Part of his role was in the construction of fortresses along the new Molotov - Rippentrop line. When the war started he was on the border itself and was quickly in action. Nonetheless he was one of many which were forced to retreat under the weight of the Nazi assault. His retreat took two months and ended near Kiev.
