I test fire a new gun with a light trigger after cleaning and visually inspecting it. When buy a used gun, you don't always know what you get until you shoot it. By taking the gun apart, cleaning it, looking for broken or worn pieces and ensure it is properly oiled, you can safely test fire the gun.

When shooting gun with multiple magazines you want to clean Magazines and then shoot all magazines to identify any potential problems. 

The metal targets I am shooting are smaller than a man if you train on smaller targets hitting larger targets will be easy.  "Aim small miss small - Aim Big miss big.
