This is a short clip of the Mega Bot running some Speed Tests. The Speed was calculated by the following method. Since I don't have a radar gun, I applied white tape to the tires, filmed 5 seconds worth of footage, counted the revolutions (17) and divided by 5 seconds. I did this several time to get an average. This gave me 3.5 rev's per second. Since I know the diameter of the tires, it was fairly easy to determine the MPH. I know the Circumference of the tire = Distance travelled in 1 rev. I used the formula for the circumference of a circle: 2 pi R where R is the diameter: 14 inches in this case. Then it was just a matter of converting distance travelled per second to Miles per Hour!
