Taking a C-Train up the express track

While waiting at 59th Street for an uptown A-Train, a C-Train pulls into the station and sits there for a moment. Normally, I wouldn't think twice about taking a C-Train since it's a local train. However, upon hearing the announcement that the train would be making express stops to 145th Street, I decided to get on board. I don't think I can remember the last time a C-train was expressed to 145. We are in 8 R32's. When we reach 86th Street, however, we have to stop, due to the fact that we had been riding the yellows of a D-Train, and had caught up to it too much, so we had to wait at a stop signal for a few minutes.
