Corruption remains a serious problem in South Africa. The country has been through a number of exposes around the Guptas, a prominent business family, close to ex-president Jacob Zuma. CGTN's Angelo Coppola speaks to a whistleblower in the mining sector in South Africa. It's been widely rumored that bribes have been solicited from mining houses when operations are stopped following an accident or incident. Some managers will simply pay the bribe just to get operations going. Others won't.
