The bystander's comment surfaced in footage that was uploaded to social media shortly after the attack on Saturday night.

On Sunday, #YouAintNoMuslimBruv was trending in the UK and the United States. It's been used to condemn extremists and support the millions of Muslims who don't want their religion used as an excuse for terrorism.

The 29-year-old man detained by police on Saturday night following the attack has been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody after appearing before Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
