Previously i've used the LightwaveRF system for computer controlled lights, but as they are fluorescent lights their time to go on and off is quite slow and they are limited to the one colour. I read about these newer Philips Hue lights and was intrigued - so I picked up a starter kit and in this stream, I set about coding an interface between Train Simulator and the lights! What was the aim? When I go in to a tunnel I want the lights to go out in the room to make the dark of the tunnel even more so, and when I'm in a steam engine and I open the firebox - I want to have the lights flash a variety of reds to simulate the glow of the fire! These are really great and the API for interfacing with them is particularly awesome! I plan on getting some more Hue kit, for sure :) I’m an Official Partner of Green Man Gaming - head over to their site with my affiliate link and make sure you log in to get the best prices on games! - http://www.greenmangaming.com/?tap_a=1964-996bbb&tap_s=40840-d8d25e Broadcasted live on Twitch -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/mattpeddlesden
