What Eats a Dead Deer?

We found a young dead deer in our meadow that was likely killed by a poacher. Instead of burying it to prevent the inevitable stench of rotting flesh, we decided to set up our game camera to hopefully capture some video of hungry coyotes that we knew were in the area from evidence of their tracks and scat. We dragged the deer carcass closer to a nearby cedar tree, mounted our game camera on the trunk low to the ground and added some leftover baked chicken to sweeten up the meal. Well as you can see from the video, Mother Nature did just fine taking care of the dead deer, although we were surprised to see that first feeders were crows, which preferred the chicken, followed by a Red-Tailed hawk. When we returned to our meadow three weeks later, the deer carcass, almost totally consumed, had been dragged about 100 yards from this locations, likely by coyotes. Unfortunately, the battery in our game camera had died prematurely, most likely because of the below zero Polar Vortex weather, so we missed capturing video of the coyotes.
