Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov expressed hope that the upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin would improve the relations between the two world powers, speaking in an interview in Washington DC. "I am sure our presidents will make a great impulse regarding the necessity to improve bilateral relations between Russian Federation and the United States," the envoy said. Antonov repeated Moscow's stance that US withdrawing from the Iran deal is "a mistake" and said Russia is not "in favour" of arms race with the Americans. "We have common challenges and threats to our security, first of all, international terrorism," the ambassador reminded, adding that "if you treat us as equal partner, if you try to understand that it is a possibility for you to speak with us not just only from the position of force, we will find solution on every issue."
