This is an example test video of the Creative Vado HD 4GB White/Green Pocket Digital Camcorder, recording video in the HD PLUS quality setting.

In order to compare and contrast the different quality settings of this camera, three different example test videos were taken using the Creative Vado HD 4GB White/Green Pocket Digital Camcorder (all available on my YouTube channel) namely in VGA, HD and HD+ quality settings.

All three quality settings are encoded by the device using the H264 MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (H264) video codec and play at 30 frames per second. The audio records in mono and uses the MS ADPCM audio (ms) codec at 44100 Hz and 16 bits per sample.

The VGA quality setting produced a video resolution of 640 X 480, and weighed in at 17,530kb of
disk space for 1 minute and 05 seconds of video.

The HD quality setting produced a video resolution of 1280 X 720, and weighed in at 29,851kb of
disk space for 56 seconds of video.

The HD PLUS quality setting also produced a video resolution of 1280 X 720, BUT weighed in at 79,020kb of disk space for 1 minute and 16 seconds of video.

Despite displaying in the same capture resolution, the HD+ video did prove to display a much sharper and much more defined image than the standard HD video format, albeit at a considerable 'file size per capture time' penalty compared to the HD standard format of video capture on the device. Obviously, the VGA capture format showed the most MPEG compression grainyness / blockyness of the three formats.
