TEDxYouth@Dayton alumni Shawn Gardner showcases his talent for spoken word poetry in an original piece on shifting into adulthood. Shawn Gardner is a senior at Stivers School for the Arts, born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. From an early age he has been drawn to public speaking, with his first encounter happening in second grade where he participated in his first speech contest. He loves writing poetry and short stories and wants to be a novelist when he grows up.
