United Nations, New York, 19 June 2009 - Noon briefing by the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General. The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR has today welcomed the airlift of more than 35,000 kilograms of relief supplies into the war-torn North West Frontier region of Pakistan. The agency thanks the Irish and Norwegian governments for their donations to the international relief effort. However, one month after it opened a fund for displaced Pakistanis, the United Nations says donations to its $543 remain low. So far, only 30 percent of the funding target has been met.
