I've already talked about the problems with trying to make friends with  someone in the fame career who is higher up then your sim is. When the person has a star above their head however, those problems are further compounded and made all the worse. We've seen the star over the real life personalities in the game but it can happen to other sims as well and they're very difficult to become friends with. 

The reward for doing so however is worth it, as the massive increase in total starpower among your friends might be all you need to ensure promotions will come easily to you, provided you have the skills. The key is to try and capitalise on this quickly, as even the high flying celebrities can wane in popularity quite quickly.  We're not in a great situation to take advantage of that right now, but with a little bit of effort and luck, another promotion won't be far away.
