CENTERVILLE - When you think of Fourth of July celebrations in the Miami Valley most people think of the Americana festival parade in Centerville as the grand-daddy parade of them all. Tthe festival started back in 1972 as a sidewalk sale by the city's downtown merchants and has been getting bigger each year. Today July 4th, 2015 more than 120 units including bands, floats, and mobile units were featured in this year's parade and it's fun for all. Harvey McCormick who lives in Centerville says "Many years ago my son we would bring him up to the parade and watch the parade and now my grandson is up there having a good time with the parade." More than 75-thousand people were expected to enjoy the rides, games, of course food with fireworks set for 10 tonight.
