Between 1995 and 2000 I played very little guitar due to a left hand injury. To keep myself musically occupied I started to play the pennywhistle and soon after that came to know the Native American flute. This wonderful instrument intrigued me and I went to my first 'Renaissance of the Native American Flute or RNAF' workshop at the Feathered Pipe Ranch near Helena Montana. These workshops were organised by R.Carlos Nakai, a worldrenown flute player, and flutemaker Ken Light of Amon Olorin flutes. I learned a lot and composed many flutesongs during those days. The inspiration to this song were the Montana plains, with the blue Rockies always in the background, and a song called 'Daglarim' (means 'my mountains') by Russian composer Ratislav Kendenbil. My flutebooks are available at https://www.horizonsflutestore.com/ I'm playing a simple cane flute that was gifted to me by the late Hawk LittleJohn, a wonderful human being and great flutemaker.
