Results are being awaited for the six legislative council seats today. Elections were held for three graduates and 3 teachers constituencies on June 8.

All three major parties- Congress, JD(S) and BJP have fielded candidates in all six seats. Although Congress and JD(S) have formed a coalition government in the state, they’re fighting each other in these elections.

Former deputy chairman of legislative council- Maritibbegowda, former Hebbal MLA- YA Narayanaswamy, Senior BJP leader Ganesh Karnik ,Ayanur Manjunath and Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj are some of them who are in the fray 

Overall, 35 candidates, including 18 from the three parties, are in the fray for the six seats.
